1301 – Human Resources Manager

Lead the HR department for the Buffalo Grove plant and be an active, contributing member of the Global HR team – all with the objective of fostering stronger, better employee relations and helping the business achieve its aggressive objectives.

  • Manages Human Resources team, including two (2) Human Resources Generalists, one (1) Human Resources Benefits and Payroll Specialist, and one (1) Office Administrator.
  • Responsible for effective and efficient execution of all Human Resources functions.
  • Sets recruiting and staffing strategies and procedures to ensure —-  is getting the right people in the right jobs at the right time – real focus on staffing. Oversees and supports succession planning, recruiting of open positions, on boarding, offboarding management of contract and temp agencies, and other activities to meet staffing needs.
  • Manages compensation, including implementing wage and salary programs to align with business strategy and external competitive concerns, annual and off-cycle pay changes, incentive programs, etc.Overseas and supports payroll processing, increases and all related compliance items. Manages benefits, including ensuring competitive health and wellness programs are in place for employees. Overseas and supports benefit administration, compliance, audits, etc.
  • Responsible for increasing employee engagement by consulting with employees at all levels through listening objectively and then providing solutions that support positive business results (a real constant focus on employee engagement is important).
  • Manage selection, implementation and maintenance of HRIS and other HR related software.
  • Support the local management team in ensuring employee communication and development needs are met. Oversee and support communication efforts.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related area. Masters degree in applicable area preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR strongly preferred.
  • Experience in independently identifying, developing and leading key strategic projects to meet corporate business goals, HR agendas and employee needs and expectations.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and payroll software to assure adequate record-keeping, reporting, administrative compliance consistent with regulatory and internal practices, and insure overall data integrity in field location. Ability to utilize available data for assessment of current state on progress on key initiatives.
  • Previous experience driving positive results.
  • Effective in problems solving. Experience and comfort working in team-based, matrix environment. Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver information, analysis and to persuade decision making.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees especially during difficult and challenging situations.
  • Knowledge in the area of talent acquisition, performance management and retention.
  • Familiarity with automated payroll, record systems, employee data bases, timekeeping software.
  • Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Assist plant with communication planning and delivery.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering training to employees on a number of HR/policy topics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
