We Have Moved!!!

We are pleased to announce that DSML Executive Search has moved to a new office at 150 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL.  We are excited about moving to this location, overlooking Millennium Park, to better serve the needs of our team and our customers.

The brief history of our firm  . . .

In the spring of 2007 Myriam Le Cannellier, originally from France, and Doug Seville, who had moved to Chicago from Canada, arranged a meeting to share experiences and explore opportunities.  Myriam, prior to relocating to the United States, held a key position with an exclusive executive search firm in Argentina; And Doug, who was, at that time, engaged in a search for an Italian company, possessed years of recruitment experience in Canada.  Over lunch the duo launched DSML Executive Search as a retained search firm exclusively focused on European and Canadian companies doing business in the United States.

Not only did Myriam and Doug’s experience align but so did their values in the way they treat both clients and candidates.

How is DSML different?

Firstly, we are honest with customers.  If we feel that a prospect’s expectations are not aligned with the US market, we will advise them based on our experience in the market, and either move forward with an engagement or decline to work together.  We want our clients to succeed and when they do, so do we.  Secondly, unlike some firms in our industry, we are fully transparent with our clients in all matters relating to the search, our billings, our guarantee, etc.

In addition, we are always treating candidates with respect.  We do not “ghost” anyone and we always let candidates know where they stand in the search process.  We never had a “management discussion” related to this topic as it is what we have done from day one and continue to do to this day.  We believe in being ambassadors for our customers and treating candidates with honesty and respect reflects the values of our clients.

DSML Executive Search has always strived to continually do things better.  An effective executive search is an art with a well-established fine-tuned process.  We discovered early on that continuing to fine-tune the process is paramount and any deviation from the methodology could be disastrous.  Included in this process, DSML provides our clients thorough references and background checks.  One might think that all search firms check for education, work history, etc. however we can assure the reader that they do not … DSML Executive Search does NOT drop the ball on this important part of the process.
